Elder Young Week 40 Teaching in Toto
On Sunday I gave a talk today to all the people. I talked about the restuaracio of the gospel it was about ten minutes long. Then we ate at hand. Pacajah's house. Lucas came to church again and will be baptized this Sunday. Milady and Angina came and will be baptized the 10th of May. And Christina came and will be baptized the 20th of May. They are all progressing at different rates. Later that day we went to meet with Maria. They needed our help putting down a pole. We put it down and then they gave us food and we talked for about 2 hours about the gospel with her friends as we celebrated the Catholic holiday. We gave a Book of Mormon to one of the people interested and we talked about how it would bless him. Maria shared her testimony and she really loves me, Elder Milo and Elder Linares. I baptized her and before she had bad depression and her husband was an alcoholic. Now she is happy, preparing for the temple and her husband is amazingly active and happy and says his most earnest desire is to hold the priesthood. He is an inspiration. They all are. Well see them in the temple in 1 year. They are so amazing. I talked with her about all her concerns; she is trying so hard to be a good mother and raised her kids in the gospel. They are the most genuine people I know and I love them for the bottom of my heart. They are so special to me and I am forever glad I got the chance to strengthen their faith. I love them so much and we had a great talk. She has changed so much as a person and is happy. The Holy Ghost has worked so much in her. It''s amazing. I felt amazingly close to the spirit when I left that house.I can't describe it. I talked to everyone on the way home just out of love. I felt so happy and how grateful I am for the church. I'm so excited for Lucas to get baptized. His family doesn't want him too but they are changing their mind seeing as he was an alcoholic for 25 years and has talked with so many preachers but now is stopping for good. He is such an honest and wonderful man. We stopped by his house just to say hi and he loved it. He is so funny. He thinks little jokes are hilarious and he can't hear very well so we shout our lessons to him in Spanish. He says he is going to get his ears cleaned at the doctor's office tomorrow so he can hear again. Ha-ha, he is wonderful and is not giving in to alcohol at all. His [friends [even offered him FREE alcohol at his cantina and he SAID NO!! He is so repenting and I love it. I hope all goes well so he can be baptized this week. Everyone at church was excited for him. I played piano again, as always. I can pretty much play any hymn by sight reading now just give me a time to run through it once before. The bishop here is a funny. He said I played the hymn to slow because the congregation were singing like turtles,so I played We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet at 150 beats a minute. In retrospect I shouldn't have done that, but he hasn't really complained since ha-ha. I repented of that.

Elder Young -Week 38: General Conference went by like a lightening bolt!
> This week after conference and the talk by Elder Rasband, I've tried to follow all of the promptings that I receive from the spirit. Because of that I've felt at least two different times to talk to families and so I ran up to them and we placed dates to come back and teach them. Every time I've received a prompting to talk to someone, I run and talk to them and we almost always get a date to go back with them. It's amazing.
>
> We have 12 baptismal dates in the next 2 months, and 2 people came this week Lucas Batz and Christina. Lucas is 65 and has been drinking almost all his life. He is adorable. We walked from his house to church and he told us all about how they had to bring the water from the river when he was a boy and this and that. he has come twice and will be baptized on the 22 of April.
>
> Ana Cutz is the sweetest little lady I've ever met. She left her church because of an argument with another lady and found us. She always feeds us break and tea (they call everything tea here but its not actually tea) and she is so sweet. She loves the bible like its her family member and if we say anything to imply that there is another book like the bible she takes it as an insult. She's hilarious. I love her, we speak in quiche sometimes
>
> Carlos Ajcuc is the son of the parents we baptized last month. He told his dad he wanted to be baptized yesterday. We talked to him. He said he'd come to church but decided not too after having some doubts...
>
> Felix and Maria are miracles. Felix had drank his whole life and completely turned it around. He stopped two or so days before baptism and hasn't drank since. His family was SHOCKED. He used to be very violent, now he is a picture perfect father. Maria used to have extreme depression, now she says she is HAPPY. They are progressing like crazy. And are as happy as a family I've ever seen. They have CHANGED THEIR LIVES and the gospel has brought that positive change.
>
> We have about 4 other people who want to be baptized but work making tortillas on Sunday. We found them because we talk to everyone in every store about the gospel. We contacted about 4 hours a day last change and we have tons of people to meet with now. They all speak quiche and that's how we communicate with them, but they aren't willing to give up the income for their families that Sunday brings, so going to church is hard. They are so sweet though.
>
> They lady who sells us delicious yogurts almost every day is now taking discussions but thinks the Sabbath is Saturday because the biggest church here is a Saturday Evangelical church. A former Mormon lady started their church and uses the Christ image from our church. They have many things right, but they are still so obstinate about the 7th day.
>
> Charlie is nice man who accepted us in his house and give us bread and tea every time. He loves us and we love him but he is seventh day Evangelical and wont change. He is such a great Christian man and probably lives the gospel better than our own members I love the guy, so nice.
>
> Pedro Gutierez is a skeptical young man who had a baptismal date but thinks the Sabbath is on Saturday so wont get baptized. its really frustrating because they don't believe anything their pasture tells them not to believe. We are working with him but he is only trying to find things wrong with the Book of Mormon and not trying to ask with real intent
>
> Kevin Batz has come to church 2 times. He said he knows or believes the Book of Mormon is true, but still kind of thinks all churches lead to salvation type of talk.
>
> Olga is firm in her church but said if she feels the Book is true will get baptized. I love her to death. I just want all my investigators to know how much I love them.
>
> Pedro is a 28 year old man who broke his leg in a car crash. He lost a lot and his family are members. We helped move his furniture to remodel his house for service, but he doesn't want to read the Book of Mormon and take the challenge of baptism if its true. Were working with him

> A lot of people use logical fallacies with religion which makes me sad. When we talk of the joy the gospel brings they nod they’re head in agreement then go off to masts and pray to statues. It hurts me inside to think that they are fine with fake religious and fake spiritual feelings. Change in our lives is what brings peace. Clarity of doctrine brings clarity of mind. I want them to get it, but I cant force it on them

> Just read the Book of Mormon guys., It's true or its not. Just ask God if its true. If you get an answer the church is true. if you don't then its not. Just do it with real intent. Try it Please.
