Week 37: Elder Young -Learning about the meaning of Life

This week was good. I learned a lot about the meaning of life. After having seen so many different lives. I can testify that when we keep the commandments of God. we will receive His blessings. The best way to live is start early keeping all of God's commandments. Treasure your youth because it flies by fast.
I like talking with old people in the parks. They always tell me about what they did when they were just a boy. They fondly look at what they've done and live in the past constantly.

That makes me want to do two things better.
Look to the future.
Make something of the present.

I need to also do something. I think that when I come back from the mission I am going to study like crazy. Learn languages. talk to people. Do things. Make things happen. Study hard things. Make and set goals.

Still learning and coming to grips with the realities of life, all the while holding on to a testimony of things eternal.

Miracles
I felt a prompting to send a message inviting a less active to church. He came for the first time in a long time!
We felt like we should stop by a house on our way to church before picking up our investigators. We did and the mom was in need of a priesthood blessing and the family made plans to come to church the following week.
I found two different people who lived in Racana and who already had seen me before. I had talked to their families but never with them. They said they would both go to church in Racana and accepted baptismal invitations.
I felt like I should go talk to an old guy making surcos in his field. We did service with him. Turns out he was the grandpa of a man we were teaching who said he would come to church the next week.
While we were preparing the baptismal font, our telephone fell in the water. It was soaking wet and didn’t work. I prayed that if it was the Lords will that it would work then it would. But then I felt like I should be more bold so my companion and I said a special prayer that the phone would for sure work so we could call our investigators when we turned it on again. We ended our prayer and it worked perfectly from that time on.
We also were visiting investigators with a member who asked out of the blue if we could visit a less active member and her investigator mom. We did. I can’t explain what her situation is, but our visit was a miracle for her. She had recently asked God why He had abandoned her. She said she had lost her purpose to move on. We testified that God sent us to her house to tell her that He loved her. Not many members had visited her for two whole years since she had been inactive. A scripture came to mind in DC 122. I shared it. It was perfect because her Father was falsely imprisoned and accused and it seemed that the gates of hell were open to snatch her. It gave her strength. She cried and thanked God for our visit in her prayers. The bishop is going to work with her now.
