Great week.
I just want to testify real quick about the power of prayer. I was just about to read my scriptures this morning when the thought came into my head that I needed to pray. I prayed and really focused on talking with my Heavenly Father. I asked Him what I should do to more fully please Him and if there was anything that I should work on or improve so that I might feel worthy as I stand in His presence. For 10 minutes my mind was illuminated as I thought of all I could do and how merciful God is.
At the end, after receiving several specific ideas, a line from the hymn Called to Serve popped in my mind. "Called to know the richness of His blessings" This thought made me reflect on what I could do to know the richness of God's blessings more in my life. Many ideas came. I reflected on that and my heart felt at peace as I thought about the idea of coming into the presence of the Savior. I still have many imperfections, yet I have found great peace in knowing that I can repent and receive a personal guide from my Heavenly Father whenever I need it and wherever I might be.
Well today was a super fun day. We had divisions and today I am with Elder Johns. What a blast it has been. We had a great day and at the end of the day we said a prayer and asked to be guided to a house. We prayed and unanimously felt to go to a house in the same direction. We went there and a lady came out that had a light problem. Elder Johns and I, he being 6'7" and I being 6'6" offered help. She agreed and let us share a message. She really liked it and the spirit was super strong.
Then we went with a young man who enjoyed our message as well. We then contacted another man and had a great time teaching with Elder Johns. It was awesome. We laughed so much. Being with someone that speaks English and has a cool personality and thinks deeply about things has been a blessing I can't express.
We were teaching another lesson in another house and we felt like we should go there. It was raining so they let us inside. It was perfect. We shared the restoration and when the man started to explain the apostasy, the light went out in the house. I turned on a flashlight and said, "But luckily God sent a prophet to us to light the way!" and showed a picture of Joseph Smith using the flashlight It was awesome. They seemed really interested and felt good during the lesson and invited us back another day.
