Week 60:Elder Young -Earthquake!!

THE EARTHQUAKE WAS PRETTY STRONG. IT REGISTERED 8.1 AT IT'S CENTER AND THEY SAY IT REGISTERED 7.8 IN THE DEPARTMENT OF QUETZALTENANGO.  ELDER YOUNG WAS ABLE TO EMAIL US AND HE SAID,
"IT WAS AWESOME, THE WHOLE HOUSE SHOOK AND I AM SAFE!"

Should be a great week. Michele will be baptized this Friday so that should be fun, and Walter and Marlene are getting married and baptized the same day on the 23rd of September.

Great day. We went up a mountain to visit less actives with a family from our ward.  I can´t remember her name but we get along super well.  She is hilarious, is about 45 years old and still goes out with the missionaries.  She has a kid with down syndrome and handles it very well.  She´s really cool and good example of how to be strong in the church.  We visited a nice little family and one of the daughters said that she would come back to church tomorrow so we will see.

Then we visited the family from Arkansas which was sooooooo awesome. These people are great and very well educated. It was one of the sweetest and most spiritual moments of my mission when in front of the three youth that are my age, I bore my testimony of the divinity of the Book of Mormon. I gave out a book to each of them with a little written message. I talked about what a miracle it was that we could meet here and that the Book of Mormon has taught me how to live a happy life and I want to share that with them. It was so great, the spirit was strong. It was incredible. I just testified from the heart and I know that that family felt the spirit. I can stand before God and them in the last day and say that I was called to the Gautemala Xela mission to teach them the restauratino through the spirit of the Lord and that is what I did. They all accepted the book and said they would read it and that I could come back next week. The invited us to eat with them so we did until it was 9:30 so we told them we had to leave. It was such a great experience. I know that I was called to find them and that I have done my job as a messenger of Christ and I have given them what I was called to give them through the power of the Spirit.

It´s great to rest well tonight. How happy I am and how I can´t wait to see them in heaven some day and how I hope that they pray and receive an answer to their questions.

Great night.

Elder Young
